Lesvos
(also called Mytilene) is Greece’s third-largest island.
Lesvos is the perfect destination with amazing villages, friendly people, excellent food ,beautiful beaches, pine forests, rivers and over a million olive trees.
Mytilene town the capital is built on seven hills and is full of history. The city founded in the 11th century BC and spreads from the harbor up into the forest hills.The enormous castle is from Byzantine era (the time of Justinian ),this castle is surrounded by a pine forest that reaches down to the shore and to the public beach. The long history of Lesvos has much affected the architecture of Mytilene, which has amazing Neoclassical buildings, Ottoman mosques and modern houses.

Molyvos, is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Lesvos .Narrow alleys, traditional stone built houses, Turkish style fountains and beautiful mansions compose an idyllic setting. The landmark of Molyvos is the medieval castle that stands on the top of the rocky cliff and is the second largest castle of the Island.You definitely have to visit Petra,Agiassos,Plomari and Kalloni villages too.

⭐️Roman Aqueduct was built by Romans for the transfer of water form the springs of mountain Olympos to the city of Mytilene, a distance of 26 km.
⭐️Petrified Forest Park to Sigri is a result of the intense volcanic activity of the island aged 20 million years.The Forest, is a UNESCO World Heritage monument, stretches over an area of 286,000 sq.m., where hundreds of standing or fallen trunks are scattered.

Lesvos island host the annual Ouzo Festival, an event dedicated to the famous Greek spirit, attracting tourists and locals who enjoyed ouzo-based cocktails mezes and plenty of music. The World of Ouzo Museum of Isidoros Arvanitis, since 1894 is just outside of Plomari village, in a magnificent olive grove and few minutes away from the famous beach of Agios Isidoros,is a very interesting museum in order to show its long tradition of ouzo production and explain the ouzo distillery process.
Try Kalloni sardines from the gulf of Kalloni . The process of corning is done in a natural way without preservatives or other additives since their main preserving agent is salt, they come solely from Greek clear waters.The best local ‘mezes ‘for ouzo.
