Thassos – Giola lagoon
Small pool inside rocky seaside cliffs . The Giola lagoon in Thassos is known as the “Tear of Venus”. Legend in Mythology says that this pool was created by Zeus, for Venus to swim. While another legend says that the lake was the eye of Zeus, for watching his mistress.
This lagoon, located near the village Astris (or Astrida), is often called the world’s most natural swimming pool.
The height of the rocks reaches up to 8m from where the swimmers can dive into the clear waters.
